Medvedchuk Re-elected As SDPU Party Leader

Medvedchuk Re-elected As SDPU Party Leader

4 April 2008

Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the pro-Kuchma SDPU(u) political party and former Head of Kuchma?s Presidential Administration, has been re-elected as SDPU(u) party leader. He stated that his party will oppose Yushchenko?s government. Concorde Capital: By itself, SDPU(u) will not be able to achieve the necessary 4% of voter support necessary to win a seat in the 2006 Parliamentary elections. It may seek to create an agreement with the Regions Party, headed by Viktor Yanukovich, which would likely give them the necessary votes to enter the Parliament.
