Cabinet To Consider Relinquishing Control Over Key Companies

The Cabinet will investigate the possibility of giving control over several key companies to the Fuel and Energy Ministry. The Cabinet give the Naftohaz Ukrainy, the Energy Company of Ukraine, and Vuhillia Ukrainy to the Fuel and Energy Ministry. At present these companies are accountable to the Cabinet of Ministers. Concorde Capital: The subordination of state-run energy companies to the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, will make the companies more independent and make the Cabinet more flexible in its decision-making process, which is positive. On the other hand, while fighting corruption is the new government’s slogan, we cannot exclude the possibility that the new ministry would favor some groups over others.
