GDP up 5.8% yoy in 2M08

The State Statistics Committee reported that GDP growth was 5.8% yoy in 2M08. Nominal GDP was USD 23.5 mln in 2M08. In February GDP accelerated from January (6.7% yoy growth vs. 4.9% yoy). In January-February, GDP continued to be driven by trade (+14.3 yoy), manufacturing (9.8% yoy) and transportation (+8.3% yoy). We reiterate our 2008 forecast for GDP growth of 6.8% yoy.
