The State Statistic’s Committee adjusted Ukraine’s GDP growth for 2005 upwards from 2.4% yoy, reported initially, to 2.6%. According to the committee’s data, 2005 GDP growth was mainly due to a 7.4% increase of value added in transport, 3.7% in mining and 2.0% in manufacturing. Among the main GDP retractors in 2005 were a 6.7% fall in construction and 8.5% decrease in wholesale and retail trade. Nominal GDP for 2005 totaled USD 81.7 bln, according to the committee.
