Foreign Trade Balance in Services Reaches USD 4.1 bln in 2007

According to the State Statistics Committee, Ukraine’s trade balance in services totaled USD 4.1 bln in 2007 with exports amounting to USD 9.0 bln (+19.8% yoy), and imports reaching USD 4.9 bln (+31.2% yoy). The main contributors to the export growth were financial services (+296.9% yoy), railway transportation (+46.6% yoy) and air transportation (+27.2% yoy). Transportation services accounted for 67.9% of total service exports in 2007, while pipe transportation accounted for 27.0% of total service exports. The State Statistics Committee’s figures differ with those of the National Bank of Ukraine due to different calculation approaches.
