2006 Merchandise Trade Deficit Reaches USD 6.7 bln

The export of goods increased by 12% yoy in 2006 to USD 38.4 bln (up from 34.7 bln in 11M), while imports went up by 25% to USD 45 bln over the same period. 2006’s merchandise trade deficit reached 6.4% of GDP, up from 2.3% in 2005.
