Consumer prices climbed 1.2% in January. Food prices rose 1.6%, non-food prices remained at December levels, and services became 0.9% more expensive. Concorde Capital: A good start to the year. This year January CPI rate was the lowest it has been in past seven years, except for 2002 (January CPI was 1.0% then). In the 2006 budget CPI is projected to be 8.7%. The Economic Ministry’s initial forecast of CPI for 2006 at 11-12% was recalled in January for revision. Our annual CPI rate for 2006 is 10%.
