In a nationally televised address, President Viktor Yushchenko called on Ukraine’s lawmakers sign a moratorium that would ensure stability until the March elections and to unfreeze the Constitutional court by appointing the Rada’s allotment of new judges. In return Yushchenko said he was willing to accept the new constitution though he said he considers the amendments flawed. Concorde Capital: This is Yushchenko’s olive branch to the Rada, though it doesn’t seem to be much of an offering – the President said he still expects the court to rule on the legality of the new amendments to the constitution. However, it may work, Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn, has already given a press conference praising the Presidency of Yushchenko.
