GDP Grows 7% yoy in 2006

According to to State Statistics Committee, Ukraine’s GDP grew 7% yoy in 2006 up from 2.6% growth in 2005. Alexander Viktorov: GDP growth was driven by the construction, transport and trade sectors. This year has seen a changing of the guard as industrial production, typically the main driver of Ukraine’s GDP, has been surpassed by the service industry. 2006 GDP growth was just a touch higher than our forecast of 6.9%.
