European Parliament Condemns Russian Gas Prices, Invites Tymoshenko & Yanukovich To Share Their Views.

The European Parliament announced that it intends assist Ukraine in its efforts to introduce energy saving technologies by using the financial institutions of the EU, and help prevent what it called further political blackmail against Ukraine.  The EU body claimed that Moscow used vague principles for forming gas prices, and called on European countries using Russian gas to diversify their sources and supplies of energy. In related news, the European Parliament also announced that in light of the pair’s joint efforts to disband the government, it had invited political block leaders Yulia Tymoshenko and Viktor Yanukovich, to the visit the parliament in February to share their political goals and vision of Ukraine’s future relationship with the EU. Concorde Capital: These were the EU’s strongest statements to date in support of Ukraine in the gas dispute with Russia, and the first time the Europarliament has invited any of Ukraine’s current political opposition to speak.
