Border controls for unvaccinated people as well as
people coming from specific countries are tightening, pravda.com.ua reports.
However, these will not apply to visitors who have been fully vaccinated with a
vaccine included on the WHO list and Ukrainians who have had at least one
vaccination, if they have the appropriate documentation.
Anyone not appropriately vaccinated coming from Russia
or India who stayed there for more than seven days out of the last two weeks
will need to undergo mandatory self-isolation. The border guards will also
check the loading and functioning of the “Home” app for such people. This
applies even for people who have recent negative PCR COVID tests.
Foreigners and Ukrainians coming from elsewhere and
who are not appropriately vaccinated will need to spend 10 days in
self-isolation.
James Hydzik: With community transmission of the Delta variant of COVID already in
Ukraine, these measures are designed to delay the inevitable surge in COVID
cases, and not prevent it. The “why” aside, the new rules need to be kept in
mind for business travellers.
