Advances planned in Ukraine online services for business, officials say

30 September 2019

The Digital Transformation Ministry has set the goal
of transferring 100% of Ukraine’s administrative services online in the next
five years, deputy minister Oleksandr Borniakov told a forum in Lviv on Sept.
29. “Of these, 20% of services will be without the interference of officials.
We will launch about 20 services by the year end,” he said, as reported by the
epravda.com.ua news site. In particular, the ministry is planning to simplify
the closure of registered small businesses, and replacing the classification of
forms of economic activity. “The current procedure is absurd,” he said.

The same day, Digital Transformation Minister
Mykhaylo Fedorov said the government’s “Electronic Residency” project plans to
enable foreign investors to be able to register a business and open a bank
account in Ukraine online, without having to visit the country.
