Arcelor Mittal has announced plans to invest a total of USD 1.5 bln in Mittal Steel Kryviy Rih (KSTL: U/R) over the next 3-4 years. In particular, the funds will be directed to the construction of a new sintering plant with an annual capacity of 9 mln mt to replace its existing 55-year old sintering facility. According to the Mittal Steel Kryviy Rih’s business plan, in 2007 the company will spend USD 227 mln on technical re-equipment.
