Astarta makes 100 ths mt of sugar to date

Astarta (AST PW) announced in a press release on Friday that as of October 22 it made over 100 ths mt of sugar, out of 700 ths mt of sugar beets. The company said that due to investments it cut its average consumption of natural gas at its sugar processing plants by 25% yoy to 35 m3 per mt of sugar beets. Astarta reported that it completed sugar beet harvesting this year from 18 ths ha (54% of total planted area), and achieved a gross yield of 43 mt/ha.
