Auchan Opens First Hypermarket in Ukraine

According to Interfax, French retailer Auchan opened its first discount hypermarket in Ukraine. It is located in Kyiv. In March 2007, Auchan acquired a 20% stake in Anthousa, owner of Ukraine’s top-three retailer Furshet, as part of a partnership agreement that included development of a new national retail chain, and shopping and entertainment centers with Furshet or Auchan stores as anchor tenants.
