The managing company for Mariupol Heavy Machinery (MZVM: BUY) and Azovzahalmash (AZGM: BUY) signed a contract for the delivery of 171 freight carriages for USD 9.25 mln to Russia’s Troika Company (owned by the two largest Russian transportation companies Russian Railways and Far East Sea Steamship). The platforms will be made at Armavir Heavy Machinery Plant (Russia), allegedly controlled by Azovmash. The agreement also foresees the possible delivery of 152 railway platforms from Armavir Plant in 2006. In related news, Azovmash won a tender for the delivery of slag carriage and hot blast valves for the Chelyabinsk Steel Mill.
