Daily Kommersant reported this morning that France’s BNP Paribas has increased its stake in Ukrsibbank, Ukraine’s #3 largest lender, to 75.5%, after buying out local businessman Ernest Galiev’s 24.5% for UAH 1-2 bln. The article cited a company filing with the Ukrainian Securities & Exchange Commission. Ukrainian businessman Alexander Yaroslavskiy, owner of the other 24.5% in the bank, reportedly intends to continue holding the stake and developing the company.
