Bogdan decreases 2009 production target by 40%

President Oleg Svinarchuk of Bogdan Corporation, which includes Bogdan Automobile Plant (LUAZ), said yesterday that due to the financial crisis, the company revised its production target downward by 40% in 2009 to 100-105 ths vehicles. Svinarchuk said that the company is so far sticking to its planned level this year of 105 ths vehicles. He said that the company decided not to launch any new projects and will focus on developing those currently underway: streamlining bus/passenger production at its Cherkasy and Lutsk plants, and cooperating with Belarusian partners on new bus designs.
