Sales of new cars in Ukraine grew by 43% y-o-y to 21,200 in September 2011, Auto Consulting reported yesterday. The September sales figure represents a new post-crisis record, besting the previous mark set a month earlier of 21,000 cars. Vitaly Gorovoy: We attribute the two-month growth to rumors about an introduction of duties on imported cars and concern among the population about potential UAH devaluation. Auto Consulting did not disclose data about the share of the market leaders September, but we estimate it as similar to August results: AvtoVAZ – 13%, Hyundai – 9% and ZAZ – 9%.
