Ukraine’s Supreme Business Court ruled yesterday that Securities and Exchange Commission chief Anatoli Baliuk holds the post unlawfully. The court said Baliuk was appointed SEC head while he was a member of Ukrnafta’s supervisory board, which is not permitted by law. Baliuk may appeal the court ruling. Concorde Capital: Baliuk’s possible dismissal will have no immediate impact on Ukraine?s stock market. However, he has done very little to improve the equities market during his tenure and a change, for any reason, would be positive and could bring about market reform.
