Coal Industry To Be Privatized

President Yushchenko ordered the Coal Ministry to complete the restructuring and incorporation Ukraine?s coal enterprises, in order to privatize them within the next 1.5?2 years. Loss-making mines will be put up for privatization first. Concorde Capital: Privatizing the coal mines might improve their profitability. However, it is not clear whether the government will be able to find investors for the loss-making coal mines. Moreover, it is not yet clear who will be responsible for preparing the coal mines for privatization, as the Coal Ministry has yet to be created.
