Coal Mine Privatization Postponed.

The State Property Fund said it planned to resume privatization of coal mines in 2007. Eugene Cherviachenko: Earlier the fund had said it would complete all preparations for the next round of mine privatization (including 12 coal mining companies) by October 2006. The postponement is apparently due to the political uncertainty. We think privatization will go forward regardless of who is in government.
