Ukrainian sugar maker Dakor (DAKOR) announced yesterday that the company’s production in 2008 amounted to 88 ths mt of sugar (down 12% yoy). The figure put Dakor among the top-5 sugar producers (from 6th place in 2007) on the Ukrainian market, with a 6% market share. Last season the company increased the share of its own sugar beets used in production to 89% from 76% in 2007. Dakor boosted its area sown with winter crops for harvest in 2009 by 10% yoy to 32 ths ha (19.4 ths ha of wheat, 9.8 ths ha of rapeseed, 1.8 ths ha of barley and 1.0 ths ha of rye).
