Darnitsa To Comply with GMP Standards By 2009

Darnitsa, daughter company of Nord Star Pharmashare (4SI1 GR: BUY), said yesterday that it plans to certify according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards by 2009, when all Ukrainian pharmaceutical producers face mandatory compliance. According to Quality Management Department Head Petro Shoturma, the company will invest about USD 48 mln to bring it into compliance. Thanks to the management making this initiative a priority, we believe that Darnitsa will be one of only a few of the 150+ companies in the sector that will be checked out on time.
