Donbasenergo new owner attracts a 10-year loan at 3.5%

Energoinvest Holding, the company that won the Donbasenergo (DOEN UK) privatization tender, signed a loan agreement for UAH 650 mln with local venture fund Ukrainian Project Investments, Interfax reported on September 3. The deal, reportedly signed on August 5, was for a 10-year loan at an interest rate of 3.5%. Energoinvest Holding agreed to pay UAH 719 mln for a 61% stake in Donbasenergo on August 21, while the tender’s starting price was UAH 641 mln. As of end-August, the State Property Fund of Ukraine had yet to receive money for its sold stake in Donbasenergo.
