Yesterday the Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced the official election results. Following the official announcement of the election results the Rada now has 29 days to open its next session. Once the session opens the new lawmakers will have 30 days to form a coalition and an additional 30 days after that to form the government. Concorde Capital: We expect the first two phases of this process to drag out, as two of the three largest parties (Regions, Our Ukraine) have no incentive to see negotiations end quickly. Regions seems content to wait it out with the hope of joining with one of the other parties later if the ‘orange’ coalition falters. Our Ukraine on the other hand, seems to be searching for ways to improve its bargaining power with BYT. However, once a coalition is formed look for the naming of government posts to happen quickly.
