Agriculture Ministry cuts 2009 grain forecasts

Ukraine’s Ministry of Agricultural Policy announced yesterday that it revised its forecast for the 2009 grain forecast downward to 42.9 mln mt and 2009/2010 grain exports to 16.7 mln mt, Interfax said yesterday. The ministry’s previous estimates were 45 mln mt and 18 mln mt, respectively. Last year Ukraine collected 53.3 mln mt of grain and exported 25.2 mln mt.
