Alchevsk Iron & Steel ramps up to full capacity

Alchevsk Iron & Steel (UX: ALMK UK) plans to operate at full capacity by February 20, General Director Taras Shevchenko said Friday, according to Interfax. Shevchenko said that problems with iron ore supplies to the plant will soon be resolved, allowing the mill to restart idle furnaces. In January, Alchevsk Iron & Steel produced 233 ths mt of rolled steel, down 15% yoy; 255 ths mt of crude steel, down 13% yoy; and 219 ths mt of pig iron, down 17% yoy.
