Alchevsk Steel suffers loss in 4Q11, but stays in black in 2011

Alchevsk Iron & Steel (ALMK UK) reported yesterday net profit of USD 37 mln for 2011, up from a net loss of USD 128 mln in 2010, according to an announcement for the company’s AGM on April 17. The reported net profit implies a net loss of USD 36 mln in 4Q11, which corresponds to the weak steel market during October-December 2011.
