Alfa Bank Ukraine, is placing 3-year Eurobonds with a 9.75% yield for 160 mln. UBS is the lead manager for the placement. Moody’s assigned the issue its B1 rating and S&P rated it BB-. Alfa Bank Ukraine, a subsidiary of Russia’s Alfa Bank, is Ukraine’s 19th largest bank in terms of assets. Oleksandr Klymchuk: The Alfa Bank issue increases the outstanding amount of Corporate Eurobonds to USD 4.65 bln (including Privatbank’s USD 100 mln bonds maturing on December 19). This year issues amounted to a record USD 2.21 bln which is nearly two times higher than the previous year; 74% of 2006’s corporate issues have been made by banks contrary to 29% in 2004 and 60% in 2005. We expect banking to dominate in 2007 as well.
