Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said yesterday that sales of the An-148 100 airplane could bring USD 5 bln to Ukraine over the next five years, according to Interfax. Earlier this week, Ukrainian airline Aerosvit announced that it signed a memorandum with the Antonov design bureau, maker of the airplane, for up to 10 planes over three years. Aerosvit said it planned to use the airliner for flights to Moscow, Budapest, Sofia, Prague, Warsaw and for domestic routes. The An-148 is a twin-engine regional jet with a top cruising speed of 780-850 km/h and a price tag of USD 15-20 mln. Aerospace powerplant producer Motor Sich (MSICH) produces the D-436-148 engine for the An-148.
