Antonov claims 52 contracts for An-148s

17 June 2009

At a press conference during the biennial Paris Air Show, Antonov’s construction general of aviation, Dmytro Kiva, said his firm had 52 contracts for new An-148 passenger planes. Kiva did not specify terms of delivery or buyers. Kiva said the estimated market for An-148 was about 600 planes. Alexander Paraschiy: The news is positive for Motor Sich (MSICH), the only supplier of engines for the An-148. Fulfilling Antonov’s orders will allow Motor Sich to produce about 120-150 engines (model D-436-148) and about 60 auxiliary power units (AI-450-MS), which in total would amount to about USD 350-400 mln.
