Astarta Purchases Zhdanovsky Agricultural Complex.

Astarta (AST PW), one of Ukraine’s largest sugar producers, recently completed the purchase of more than a 60% stake in the Zhdanovsky Agricultural complex. Zhadanovsky produces sugar beet seeds, and, according to Astarta’s management, operates 4.5 ths ha of arable land, and supplies sugar beets to Agropromtsukor, sugar plant controlled by Astarta.  The complex also contains four dairies and two pig farms. Olha Pankiv: Following the Zhdanovsky acquisition, Astarta has 98.3 ths ha of land under management bringing it close to Ukrprominvest, which has roughly 100 ths ha, the largest amount of land among sugar makers. Dakor with 90.3 ths ha is third.
