Atonov Aircraft A Hit At MAKS-2005 Aviation Show In Russia

19 August 2008

Several large contracts were signed at the second day of the MAKS-2005 aviation show in Moscow. The Polet air carrier and IFK leasing company signed a contract for the delivery of 20 AN-148 planes for 2007-2009. The cost of a new vehicle will be about USD 20 mln. Concorde Capital: Ukrainian An-148 is passing ahead of its Russian competitor in the project to create a Russian Regional Jet. The Russian aircraft is still not finished and will be marketed in 2008 at the earliest. Antonov also signed a deal on the creation of a branch in Russia to provide scientific support for the production and maintenance of the AN-124. The success of Antonov at the MAKS-2005 show could be a catalyst for Motor SICH (MSICH: BUY), which supplies engines for both aircrafts.
