Azovmash To Increase Output Of Railway Carriages.

Azovmash announced it will increase output of railway carriages by 24.7% q-o-q in 2Q05 to 2,228 units. In Jan-June, the company reported a yoy decrease in output by 25%. This decline was connected to the company’s switch from the production of petrol cisterns to liquefied gas cisterns, which are 1.4 times more labor-intensive. Azovmash is the managing company and sales agent for the Mariupol Heavy Machinery Plant (MZVM) and Azovzahalmash. These companies are major producers of railway carriages and products for metallurgy and mining. Nearly 71% of Azovmash?s output was exported during 1H2005.
