Banks’ aggregate net income up 55.6% yoy to USD 1.4 bln in 8M08

Ukrainian banks’ aggregate net income rose 63% yoy to USD 1.4 bln in 8M08, the National Bank of Ukraine reported yesterday. Total assets grew by 61.3% yoy to USD 157.9 bln in January-August; loan portfolios expanded by 67.2% yoy to USD 126.9 bln; retail and corporate deposits were up by 53.5% yoy and 40.5% yoy to USD 41.3 bln and USD 27.4 bln, respectively. Banks’ equity rose by 71.2% yoy to USD 19.0 bln during the period.
