Belarus To Purchase 2.5 TWh Of Ukrainian Electricity Starting 2006

The two countries will also consider building a new international gridline. Concorde Capital: Exports to Belarus may be more profitable than to Russia. A year ago, Belarus was ready to pay 16 USD/MWh for Ukrainian electricity, while Russia buys Ukrainian electricity for 14 USD/MWh. Exports to Belarus would help solve Ukraine’s problem of excess generating capacity and making thermal generation companies more competitive on the domestic market.
