Biden agrees that Putin is a murderer, but Kyiv not off the hook

Biden agrees that Putin is a murderer, but Kyiv not off the hook

18 March 2021

The Kremlin has called its ambassador to the United
States for consultations. The move comes after U.S. President Joe Biden
affirmed to an interviewer’s question on March 17 that Russian president Putin
is a murderer. Biden also said that Russia would “pay a price” for its meddling
into U.S. politics.

James Hydzik: Biden’s assessment will not soften American interests in Ukraine, much
to the dismay of Ukrainian officials looking to avoid reform. The current
administration in Washington has experience, sometimes directed at them
personally, in dealing with both Russian aggression and slack Ukrainian efforts
at change. Therefore, the emphases made thus far by Washington on improving
rule of law will continue to hammer the Ukrainian government.
