Cabinet Reinstates Tax Privileges For Car Makers

5 June 2008

The Cabinet announced on May 23 that it had reinstated duty and tax exemptions for imported spare parts for auto makers until January 1, 2008. Last summer the Cabinet canceled these tax privileges, which were originally put in place June 1, 2002. Inna Perepelytsya: The two companies most likely to benefit from these privileges are Ukravto (AVTO) and Bohdan, holding company for the Lutsk Automobile Plant (LUAZ).  These exemptions will help both companies realize their investment programs for expansion and modernization in 2007.
