Computers sales grow 55% yoy in 1Q08

PC turnover in Ukraine rose 55% yoy to 589 ths units in 1Q08, according to IDC, an international research agency. Sales of desktops exceeded 321 ths units (+20% yoy), servers 6.17 ths (+29% yoy), and laptops 261 ths (+146% yoy). Laptops’ share in total turnover grew from 28% to 44%. Alexander Viktorov: Like in 2007, market trends remain favorable to the only traded Ukrainian CE retailer, Ekvin (KVIN: BUY), which generates 50% of its sales from PC. Ekvin’s 1Q08 net revenues doubled yoy to USD 55 mln.
