On Friday security firm B.O.G., related to Privat Group, used force to dismiss Eduard Sokolovskiy as CEO of Dniprooblenergo (DNON: BUY), and replaced him with Andriy Martyniuk. The official reason for Sokolovskiy’s removal was the Dnipropetrovsk Zhovtnevy District Court’s ruling of July 25. Alexander Paraschiy: According to the NC ECU (which controls 75% of Dniprooblenergo), Martyniuk was elected CEO at the company’s AGM on April 30. DTEK, who supports Sokolovskiy, does not recognize the April 30 AGM as legal – the meeting was held away from the preannounced location, in violation of Ukrainian legislation. Now that the NC ECU and Privat gained control over Dniprooblenergo’s management, they are likely to legalize it by holding a new AGM and electing new a CEO and supervisory board, in accordance with legislation.
