DTEK (DTEKUA), in its 9M11 production update released yesterday, continued to report increased output in all segments of operations. Power production rose 10.7% yoy to 22.5TWh, including a 13.2% yoy increase at 50% state-owned Dniproenergo (DNEN UK). Electricity distribution increased purchases of power by 7% yoy to 10.5TWh. DTEK also increased exports of electricity 12.5x yoy (mainly due to a low comparison base) and exports of coal by 95% yoy. Coal production grew 18% yoy, mostly on non-organic growth (consolidation of the Dobropolieugol mine in 2011). The company did not report volumes of coal trading inside Ukraine, which seem to have grown heavily over the year.
