The State Property Fund allowed both applicants, DTEK (DTEKUA) and Poltavaoblenergo (POON UK) to take part in the privatization of a 25% stake in Kyivenergo (KIEN UK) scheduled for later today. Earlier this week, the Anti-Monopoly Committee said Poltavaoblenergo had not received a permit to buy the stake, but SPF said yesterday the permit was not required for the auction. Alexander Paraschiy: As DTEK already controls about 40% of Kyivenergo (50% is currently held by the state) and controls the company’s operations, we see it as the only real candidate to win the auction. Poltavaoblenergo’s goal in participating is not clear at the moment.
