DTEK to export electricity to Baltics via Belarus in 2012

23 September 2011

DTEK plans to start exporting electricity to Baltic countries in 2012, DTEK CEO Maksim Timchenko announced yesterday (via Interfax). Exports to the Baltics via Belarus was to start by the end of 2011, but has been delayed due to a number of technical and legal obstacles. Yegor Samusenko: While exports to the Baltics should create additional demand for electricity produced in Ukraine, we do not expect the impact to be significant: no more than 1% of current electricity produced.
