EBRD to inject EUR 220 mln into Ukrainian agricultural sector this year

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Director of Agricultural Business Gilles Mettetal said the EBRD plans to grant Ukrainian agricultural businesses EUR 220 mln in 2009. According to Mettetal, the EBRD is currently in negotiations with companies. Mettetal said that the companies would use the funding to boost working capital. The EBRD intends to invest into projects linked to the production of sunflower, sunflower oil, grain, milk and retail trading.
