Evraz Group looks to add to Ukrainian assets

At a press-conference on Friday, Evraz Group President Alexander Frolov announced that the group is looking to participate in the privatization of Ukrainian coal mines. He said that Evraz is interested in various forms of cooperation with Ukrainian authorities to invest in the coal industry, including creating joint ventures. Frolov said that Evraz is also considering the acquisition of other Ukrainian iron ore and steel assets, and would participate in an investment project to construct a new seaport in Ukraine in 3-5 years.
