External trade deficit shrinks to 12.6% of GDP in 5M08

Ukraine’s external trade deficit totaled USD 8.8 bln in 5M08 (12.6% of GDP), down from 14.0% of GDP in 4M08, the State Statistics Committee reported on Friday. Exports grew 35.8% yoy to USD 25.6 bln; imports surged 52.3% yoy to USD 34.5 bln. For more details look for our note later today.
