FDI Raised to USD 22.4 bln in 1Q07

According to the State Statistics Committee, Ukraine’s foreign direct investments (FDI) increased by USD 1.3 bln to reach USD 22.4 bln as of April 1, 2007 (FDI per capita amounted to USD 481). At the same time, FDI outflow for the quarter totaled USD 0.5 bln. The financial sector continued to see the highest influx in 1Q07 of USD 2.8 bln, continuing the trend from 2006. Investments into the wholesale and retail trade reached USD 2.1 bln, metallurgy – USD 1.5 bln, and food – USD 1.4 bln in 1Q07.
