According to the Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers Association, domestic ferroalloy output increased 8.5% yoy in 11M07 to 1593.7 ths mt. The key contributor to the increase was ferrosilicon, output of which grew 54.1% yoy in 11M07 versus production of silicomanganese and ferromanganese, which declined by 8.0% and 0.9%. Andriy Gerus: We think that the increase in ferrosilicon production was caused by the EU imposing antidumping duties on Chinese and Russian imports. Earlier this year, Stakhaniv Ferroalloy (SFER: U/R) switched from producing silicomanganese to ferrosilicon.
