Finance Ministry's local bond auction fails to place new issues

The Finance Ministry’s local bond auction yesterday ended without the government finding takers for its two issues on offer. It is the sixth auction this year that ended without a result. The government offered a 112 day-maturity bond at 19% p.a. and a 2-year bond at 15.6% p.a. The next auction is scheduled for February 16.
